It’s not often that all of our customer music services congregate in one place at the same time, and we’re pleased to say that this was achieved on 1st February. Representatives from all but three of our user services attended an afternoon meeting in the management suite at Bullring in Birmingham last week and the event was a great success!
There were two main reasons for holding the meeting. The first was that we wanted to give Ensemble users a networking opportunity, and the second was to show them some new developments that we have been and are still working on.
One feature of our presentation was the Top 10 new and under-used features of Ensemble, of which number 1 is the Data Extract Wizards. These allow users to communicate with and produce statistics for specified groups of pupils/teachers/parents via emails. The demonstration involved text messages being sent to members of an ensemble, informing them of a cancellation. The ensemble in question consisted of almost everyone present, and a chorus of mobile phones beeped and buzzed as a result.

The launch of the new Paritor website offers many new possibilities including support ticketing and text messaging software. EnsembleXP.Net is now integrated with our website so that users have access to these functions without leaving Ensemble. The website now requires a log-in per user as opposed to per service; once a user has registered, they will be automatically logged into the site whenever they open Ensemble.
Another thing deserving a mention is the Paritor Speed Dating activity that users took part in. This exercise was designed so that users would put names to faces. Everyone was given a sheet containing two unusual facts about each person in the room. The task was to match the facts to the people. The activity seemed to have the desired effect, with everyone mingling and getting to know each other.
